Vacation days 5&6: Good Harbor Beach and our trip home

Here is a picture Ariel took of Alice and I under an umbrella. Good Harbor was very different from Wingaersheek. We were camped out a lot further away from the water, due to how wet the sand was. It was very windy and the water was frigid. Rebekah did get me to get in the water and boogy-board. I am so glad that she did, although initially, I thought she was nuts becasue the water was SO cold. We ended up riding about 6 gnarly waves. By the end, it felt like my feet had been split open, becasue they were so cold. As I was running in the water, each time my foot landed I hoped that it could really support me becasue I couldn't really feel it. It made me think that dying from expose in a cold sea would be a very terrible death.
Although this picture is pretty blurry, I wanted to include it because it is Annika, riding the waves. She is fearless. Rebekah is such a nice aunt to take her out. I wasn't surprised when Ariel and Gwyneth were boogy-boarding, and even Adriana didn't surprise me, but I thought Annika would be too little to do it. I'm glad she didn't think she was too little.
I enjoyed watching my boys play in the water, even if one of them almost lost his trunks, and the other one never did put his on.

As we were building a moat around our castle (notice the beautiful drip details) Dallin got the idea to build a bridge. It is hard to see in the picture, but a lot of fun to build. Note to self, sand castles don't photograph well.
This was the last morning before we got back in the car for our 6 hour journey home. Gwyneth was kind enough to grace us with her presence, even though she "wasn't even dressed."
